DeoVR supports hand tracking on Meta Quest headsets, allowing you to control playback and interact without controllers.
Enable Hand Tracking
- Go to your headset settings:
Settings → Device → Hands and Controllers - Turn Hand Tracking on
Getting Started
- When opening a video for the first time, a tutorial will show the special gesture (clap) that will open or close the player interface.
- This tutorial can be disabled or re-enabled in Developer Settings in DeoVR
Controls & Features
- Use the clap gesture to toggle the player interface
- A button in the player lets you show or hide your hands when the interface is hidden
- You can interact with content, such as trying to “touch” objects in the video
Custom Gestures
In Controller Settings in DeoVR, you can assign finger gestures (e.g., pinches) to actions:
- Default controls:
- Main action: Index finger (primary hand)
- Back: Pinky finger (primary hand)
- Switch primary hand: Index finger (secondary hand)
Important Notes
- When the interface is hidden, only the clap gesture is active to prevent accidental inputs
